Scarlett Johansson - American Actress and singer (born in the city of New York on 22 November 1984) - Her versatility as an actress has brought her much acclaim, from dramas of the past to thrillers and even adventures. Johansson was raised living in New York City as the daughter of an architect, and also the owner of a production company. Hunter, the sister of Johansson was born in New York City. When she was just seven year old, she started casting for commercials on television. In order to improve her acting skills, she joined classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Manhattan as well as she attended the Professional Children's School. In the Off Broadway play Sophistry she co-starred with Ethan Hawke. She then made her first film appearance on screen in North (1994) and was written by Rob Reiner, at age nine. Johansson was later seen on screen in Just Cause (1995) but her first breakthrough came with Manny & Lo (1996) which was a film about siblings who are orphaned and run away. The Horse Whisperer (2000) where she was the role of a teenage girl who has a deformity because of an accident earned the film critical acclaim. In Ghost World 2001 (as the teenager who is a cynical outcast Rebecca), Johansson gained an even greater amount of attention. The same as other newbie actresses, she honed her skills on the stage. She took part in different projects throughout the USA in the midst of making her stage debut. She was a student at The Stonestreet Studios Conservatory part of the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts'.
