McKayla Rose Maroney retired from athletic gymnastics, and went on to become a singer. She was a participant in 2012's Summer Olympics as part of The American Women's Gymnastics team, known by the name of Fierce Five. At the Olympics she was awarded the silver medal and also a team gold. Early life. McKayla Rose Maroney was born in Aliso Viejo, California, on the 9th of December 1995. She is the daughter of Erin and Mike Maroney (died 2019). McKayla has Irish Catholic heritage. Her sisters include Tarynn, Kav and Tarynn. She was homeschooled to become an elite gymnast. Maroney stated that "when I was younger I was a fan of Tarzan and play through the streets on all fours. My mom would say, "I should put this kid in gymnastics." Lauren Drain is an ex-member of Westboro Baptist Church. She published her memoir Banished (2013) in which she details her experiences at the church before eventually getting exiled. Lauren has been with the fitness model David Kagan (since August 2013) since their wedding. Aria Skye Kagan is the daughter of David Kagan and Lauren. Aria was born in December of 2019. Her father, mother along with her brother and sister are all members of the same church. Meanwhile, her parents and two other sisters have cut all contact with the girl.
